Students will discover that while academic teachings provide valuable insights, the realities of launching and sustaining an NGO can be vastly different. This module offers a step-by-step, practical approach to securing and maintaining funding—guided by the real-world experience of a seasoned professional. Understanding how to navigate financial challenges with a grounded and realistic strategy is essential for building a strong, sustainable NGO from the start.
This module consists of seven lessons, each designed to help students grasp the complexities of NGO financing and sustainability. Lessons are supported by video instruction, interactive quizzes, and assignments that challenge students to apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios.

Module 2: The Dos Corrientes Model – A Community-Driven Approach to Sustainable Impact

Building on the financial foundations established in Module 1, this module explores how sustainable impact is achieved through a community-driven approach. Students will examine the strategies behind Dos Corrientes, learning how to integrate an NGO into local communities for long-term success. Key topics include conducting needs assessments, understanding local challenges, and fostering partnerships that drive sustainable solutions in poverty alleviation.
Through five in-depth lessons, students will study real-world case studies from Liguiqui, Ecuador, gaining insight into how education, entrepreneurship, and sustainable agriculture empower communities. Additionally, this module highlights how applying business principles to community development can create entrepreneurial ecosystems that drive local prosperity. Lessons are reinforced through video content, interactive quizzes, and hands-on assignments that encourage practical application.
